Just before we left for the Vermont Quilt Festival, I posted on their Facebook page that we were about to be on our way from Nova Scotia. Soon after I received a Facebook message from Birgit Schueller who had a quilt in the show and that she was coming with her family to Nova Scotia for a holiday this summer. Small world!
"Masquerade - The gorgeously wild Mardi Gras fabric used in the kaleidoscopic star centres inspired this quilt. The four masks were traced from this fabric and enlarged. Feather and star quilting designs, plus hot fix Swarovski crystals add to the Mardi Gras feeling. Long arm machine quilted"
So I looked for Birgit's quilt "Masquerade" and it didn't take long to find it with a green star balloon above which meant it won a prize - "Best Use of Embellishment".
